SmarTracks Diagnostics

The training and fitness monitoring of professional and ambitious athletes today resembles a high-tech laboratory. Various expensive and costly measuring equipment are meant to help inform the coach about the athlete’s current performance level and his/her performance development.

SmarTracks Diagnostics offers the perfect solution for coaches and performance analysts in need of professional and efficient performance diagnostics. Tuned to individual training needs and training goals of different sport branches, SmarTracks Diagnostics offers effective support for training speed, endurance, and force. Additionally, SmarTracks Diagnostics serves to observe performance trends and helps avoid injuries.

In the running disciplines of athletics such as short, medium and long-distance runs, hurdle and relay races, but also in long jump or pole vault SmarTracks Diagnostics gives athletes and their coaches the ability to regularly record sports performances, to observe them and to improve them through targeted training. The benefits of the SmarTracks system can also be used for team sports such as football, volleyball and hockey.

One System – Five Tests

SmarTracks Diagnostics has the unique capacity of measuring different types of assessments using the same system. This means an athlete can perform runs, tappings, jumps and COD tests all in consecutive order, without having to change measuring equipment.

The five main assessment types that SmarTracks Diagnostics supports are:

  • Sprint capacity
  • Change of direction (COD)
  • Endurance
  • Jumping force
  • Tappings
The System

SmarTracks Diagnostics consists of innovative sensor electronics that are integrated into a textile belt and do not hamper the athlete’s freedom of movement. In combination with the SmarTracks Timing Gates – mobile or permanently integrated into Polytan running tracks – all important parameters are recorded and displayed on SmarTracks software.

The extremely lightweight sensor only weighs 35 g/1.25 oz. The sensor is positioned on lower back with the help of a light, elastic textile belt especially developed to avoid any hindrance while the athlete performs the assessments.

After the assessments have been performed, the measurement data collected by the sensor is uploaded and analyzed by the SmarTracks Diagnostics software. Depending on the size of the dataset, the analysis can take a couple of seconds up to a few minutes. After the analysis is complete, the measurement results are visible in charts or graphs. You can easily export the results in for example Excel-files.
